5 Years Later
The word "neonatology" is stuck together from
several root words and basically means "science of the newborn" --
"neo" = new, "natal" = birth, "ology" = science
of.n
If I were five years older, I would be in college to become a Neonatologist.Neonatology is the medical specialty of taking care of newborn babies, sick babies, and premature babies.
In most hospitals, babies are only admitted to the NICU
directly from the delivery room, the newborn nursery, or from another
hospital's NICU or nursery. For reasons of infection control, if a baby has
gone home and then gotten sick and come back to the hospital, the baby will
probably be admitted to a pediatric ward or pediatric intensive care unit rather
than the NICU. Of course, exceptions can be made if the baby has a problem that
definitely requires the constant attention of a neonatologist.
Babies usually stay in the NICU until they are ready to go
home, even if that takes several months. This is much different than an adult
or pediatric intensive care unit, where the patient will leave the unit as soon
as they are stable and do not need help with their breathing and constant
monitoring. For this reason, NICUs are often divided by walls or partitions into
several distinct regions: a true "intensive care" area where the
nurses and doctors spend most of their time at the babies' bedsides, an
"intermediate care" area for babies that are still on IVs or extra
oxygen, and a quieter area for the "growers."

Cigarette Advertising
Cigarettes are the only product advertised which are lethal
when used as intended. Indeed they are a product about which nothing good can
honestly be said. They are highly addictive. The damage they do to health has
been documented by more than 50,000 research studies. Smoking is the single
largest preventable cause of death in America .
Over 1,000 people die every day because of cigarette-related diseases. In the
twentieth century, more people have been killed by tobacco than by war.
Nowhere is the distorted perspective of advertising a
perspective that manages to screen out almost all unpleasant reality except the
strictly personal (e.g., bad breath, facial hair) more obvious than it is in
cigarette ads. Contradictions abound in the world of tobacco advertising.
Youthful, healthy people frolic and play with no apparent worries whatsoever.
"Alive with pleasure," proclaims the ads for Newports, as if to
obliterate the haunting subtext, "Dead with cancer." Macho men owe
their freedom and independence, indeed their very masculinity, to their Camels
and Marlboros, although the evidence indicates that cigarettes are linked with
impotence, lower testosterone count, and sterility.

3D Movies
3D now is a step up from what it used to be. Now we use
glasses that are polarized instead of the original blue and red glasses a definite
improvement. I personally have seen one 3D movie but it was a great experience.
The 3D movie I saw was Toy Story 3. While the ticket cost an extra 3$ it
was worth it. Instead of just watching a flat movie it the glasses make
it appear that you are looking into the movie! it made the screen look like a
3D box. This new system is amazing. It brings back the magic in movies! My only
complaint is that in the old 3D system things would jump out at you. In the new
system they don't do that any more. Now though it actually looks real
instead of just being blue and red. 3D has come a long way in the past ten
years. I think that in the future all movies will be 3D and I think that is a
good thing.

Should students be paid for getting good grades?
Good Friend
Friends will come and go in your life, but more important
than how long a friendship lasts, is that a good friend will love you for who
you are. The way you can tell the sign of a good friend is by looking at the
actions they take –big and small – that show they care.
Some common signs of a good friend include:
Someone who will support you no matter what- Someone
you can trust and who won’t judge you
- Someone
who won’t put you down or deliberately hurt your feelings
- Someone
who is kind and has respect for you
- Someone
who will love you because they choose to, not because they feel like they
should
- Someone whose company you enjoy showing loyalty
- Being
trustworthy and willing to tell you the truth, even when it’s hard
- Someone
who can laugh when you do
- Someone
who is willing to stick around when things get tough
- Someone
who makes you smile
- Someone
who is there to listen
- Someone
who will cry when you cry.

Dress Code?
Individuals attend schools (in general) to develop their
ability to become marketable in the near future, should education be the ONLY
focus? shouldn't one aspire to begin selling themselves professionally at first
glance. The one chance of creating a first impression shouldn't be regretted
after the fact. Whether it's elementary, high school or college it is an
individual's responsibility to make a lasting impression upon others and
through or while doing so we create internal impressions of ourselves by build
self confidence, a positive self image, and self respect. Freedom of expression
doesn't have to be mini skirts, short shorts, baggy pants, offensive language
to name a few, how about expressing one's self in a positive light to be a role
model to others, or to be admired and emulated by others. Prepare for that one
unexpected moment that could change your career path forever just because you
dressed the part.

Alask
Yet Alaska is
home to only 710,000 people, and half of them live in Anchorage ,
the state’s largest city. Only 20 percent of Alaska
is accessible by road. Alaska has
one lowest tax burden in the United States and no
state sales tax. You probably know that Mt.
McKinley –rising to 20,320 feet —
is the highest peak in North America . Locally, it’s
known as Denali , which means the Great One in Athabasca ,
the native language.

Being Organized

Being organized is extremely important in having a stress
free life. There are many advantages to being organized that include reduced
stress, saving time, and working more efficiently. Being organized is the key
to competing in a competitive job market. It is virtually impossible to be
successful in this world without being an organized person. With a little
planning and thought everyday, being organized will help you achieve your goals
in life.
Being organized in a school setting is vital to ensure that
you get your work done on time. Having a binder for every class is a great idea
because it helps you to keep all your work for one subject in one spot. For
example if you have seven classes you would have a two inch binder for every
class. Then when you go to study you can just take out the appropriate binder
for that class and not have to worry about your other classes. This is a
perfect example of how being organized will help you to succeed in a school environment. Being organized for school is extremely important, but being
organized in the workplace is just as important if not more important.

Conscience
A mistakenly cynical view of human behavior holds that
people are primarily driven by selfish motives: the desire for wealth, for
power, or for fame. Yet history gives us many examples of individuals who have
sacrificed their own welfare for a cause or a principle that they regarded as
more important than living their own lives. Conscience -- that powerful inner
voice that tells us what is right and what is wrong -- can be a more compelling
force than money, power, or fame. I believe that Conscience outweighs all of
these. A good conscience will get you power, a good conscience will bring you
to positions in life that can result in fame and so on.

Courage
Courage, it's somewhat like honor, doing something courageous means your putting your life in danger for someone else, it's the opposite of being selfish. Throwing your life in harms way to protect someone else. Or even doing something that your afraid of, "He mustered up the courage to do...." it's bravery.
“The original definition of
‘courage’ . . . is from the Latin word ‘cor,’ meaning
‘heart.’ And the original definition was to tell the story of who you are
with your whole heart. And so these folks had, very simply, the
courage to be imperfect. They had the compassion to be kind to
themselves first, and then to others, because, as it turns out, we can’t
practice compassion with other people if we can’t treat ourselves
kindly. And the last was they had connection, and—this was the hard
part—as a result of authenticity, they were willing to let go of who they
thought they should be, in order to be who they were, which you have to
absolutely do that for connection.”
Courage is an admirable quality in a person to be strong mentally and physically against all odds. A person who has a lot of self-esteem, perseverance, will-power and self-confidence in him or her is said to be courageous. The popular synonyms for courage are bravery, resolute, spirited, valiant, gutsy, fortitude, dauntless, strong-willed etc.
Courage can be divided into physical courage (bravery) and moral courage. A brave soldier who is determined to fight his foes for the sake of his motherland is an example of physical courage. An act of moral courage is to stand up for one's convictions irrespective of any obstacle. For example, Mahatma Gandhi believed in the congruence of his beliefs and was courageous enough to use non-violent means for struggle to free his country.

World in 20 years
The world in 20 years would be really technical. Many areas damaged by drought would be completely gone. Fewer countries would exist because financial issues and other people would not be able to thrive on their own. Instead of one clunky box, we’ll have a multitude of devices. Some of them will be as small as a pack of cards or even a wristwatch, making them easy to carry wherever we go. Eventually, they may be even small enough to be embedded in our clothes or perhaps even under our skin.
Connected to a “new” Internet,
all these devices will be able to find information and share it among other
devices. And instead of requiring a keyboard or even a pen for giving commands
and information, these devices will respond to our voice or even a simple look,
perhaps even get to know our preferences, and act before we bother to tell them
what to do.

Someone in history
If I could be anyone in history I would want to be Condolezza Rice. I would want to be Condolezza because she went on to become the first woman and first African American to serve as provost of Stanford University. In 2001, Rice was appointed national security adviser by President George W. Bush, becoming the first black woman (and second woman) to hold the post, and went on to become the first black woman to serve as U.S. Secretary of State. (She was the nation's 66th Secretary of State, serving from January 2005 to 2009.)

Formulas
Formulas are instructions that you enter to perform calculations.
You can create formulas by using numbers (for example, 350+450); however, it is preferable to construct formulas that refer to worksheet cells. This way, the results of the formulas update automatically when you change numbers in your worksheet. In Excel, you create formulas by preceding the expression with an equal sign (=).
For example, enter the number 350 in cell B1; enter the number 450 in B2; enter the formula =B1+B2 in cell B3. The value 800 is displayed in cell B3. Any time that you change the value in cell B1 or B2, Excel recalculates the value of cell B3.
When entering a formula, you can type in cell references or click on the desired cells. Clicking on the cells may eliminate typing errors and prevent mistakes as you determine the cell references by looking at them.
When you are building formulas, use:
+ for addition
- for subtraction
* for multiplication
/ for division
^ for exponents (for example 3^2 is 3 raised to the 2nd power)

If I could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
If I could live anywhere in
the world I would live in the Bahamas . The Islands of the Bahamas , rich in history and tradition, has its share of legends
and folklore. Early inhabitants brought some of these beliefs with them when
they settled on the islands. The Bahaman Islands temperatures rarely drop below 60 degrees F, or rise
above 90 degrees F. Most of the rain fall occurs in the summer months. The sea
temperature ranges from the low 80's in the summer to about 74 degrees F in the
winter. The Bahamian National Motto is "Forward, Upward,
Onward Together".
The symbolism of the Bahamian
Flag is as follows: Black, a strong color, represents the vigor and force
of a united people, the triangle pointing towards the body of the flag represents
the enterprise and determination of the Bahamian people to develop and possess
the rich resources of land and sea symbolized by gold and aquamarine
respectively. I think my life in the Bahamas would be full of interest and excitement. Although I like
living in Philadelphia , I wouldn't mind moving somewhere so I can learn more
about different people and how they live.

Underwater
If everyone lived underwater life would be great. We would all be exposed to new and improved ways of technology. Everyone would probably go about in mermaid/ merman ways. If we weren't mermaids/mermen we would all wear body suits on a daily basis. People would live in underwater caves and have great deals of fancy crystals or underwater plants to display in their homes. Extravagant features would bring out eminent qualities that living underwater could only bring. Fish and other aquatic animals could get along with humans and not feel threatened because we'll all be living in perfect harmony. Children could play fun little games such as Marco Polo or see who could swim the fastest. School would be centered around learning the new ways of the oceans and learn about the exploration of the ocean. It could be a great way for us to explore the vast unknown.

Space (Had to leave class locker help)
If everyone lived in space there would probably be a much more interesting life. If humans could live in space we would be open to a whole new world. We would be able to study the vast unknown. Once studying the vast unknown we'd be experiencing new things and be exposed to new and interesting way of life. People could probably live in regular houses but that would float around aimlessly. Everybody would most likely float around in their best space suit and rocking the newest space boots. They'd probably eat food that they'd be able to eat besides the freeze dried food that already exists. People would travel by floating in air and doing their best to get from place to place.

What would you do if you were president of the United States?
If I were president of United States, I'd ensure that I provide what I promised during my campaign. I would try to fix our nation's economy. It may sound like an unbeatable task, but I would try to reverse what has already been done. I would base my structure of reform on the form of Barack Obama's. I'd try to protect the rights of my nation's people. Unlike previous presidents, I'd be the first female president. I wouldn't think of only myself, but the well being of my people. Being president is a very serious and important role to take on. One cannot think of only themselves they must think of everyone their governing will affect. One cannot be selfish, or self centered when the well being of society is in their hands. You have to consider how one decision will affect the total outcome of the greatness of society. I would not take away the needs of societies best and worse. Some people who are struggling deserved the rights that were promised to them and they do not deserve to have them taken away, in all fairness they deserve every possible right that they were promised since the beginning of time.

Describe your perfect vacation
My perfect vacation would be to Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas. I want to stay in The Royal Towers Hotel. Because no other accommodation quite captures the
Caribbean spirit of Atlantis like Paradise Island‘s iconic Royal Towers. It is the perfect choice for families and vacationers looking
for the ultimate Atlantis Paradise
Island experience.Next, I would love to go to Dolphin Cay. For
guests of Atlantis Paradise Island Dolphin Cay offers an intimate and one of a
kind resort experience. Dolphin Cay is an extraordinary environment; its
14-acres and 6.6 million gallons of crystal clear seawater, it’s one of the
largest and most sophisticated marine habitats and dolphin
rescue-rehabilitation facilities anywhere in the world. And it’s a place where
swimming with dolphins has been redefined. Afterwards, I plan to visit Aquaventure,
Atlantis Paradise Island ’s water park, is a
one-of-a-kind 141-acre waterscape. This non-stop aquatic thrill ride features over twenty
million gallons of water, incredible Atlantean-themed towers, thrilling
high-speed water slides, a mile-long river ride with rolling rapids and wave
surges, 20 swimming areas, a spectacular kids water-play fort and 11 unique and
refreshing swimming pools. Maybe later, go snorkeling or scuba diving. At the end of a hard day, visit the spa or Atlantis theater.

Movie Review
Paranormal Activity 4 Movie Review
The movie Paranormal Activity 4 which came to theaters October 19th 2012, was an seemingly interesting movie. I rate this movie 5 stars out of 5. The movie was a home documentary of a family with an adopted young son and an older daughter. The father in this family is not usually present at which he came late to his son's soccer game and picnic picnic. A boy from across the street with strange behavior befriended this young boy. His older sister, who does not like this boy from across the street found him with her best friend in her old tree house late at night. The next day the little boy's mother was rushed to the hospital for an unknown reason and was forced to stay with the family across the street. While at his friend's home, during his stay there many odd things began to happen and the family's safety was in complete danger. These paranormal activities that went on in this house caused the oldest daughter much distress. At the end of the movie she saw her young brother walk across the street with this peculiar little boy and the actions that went on in this movie, during the last 10 minutes were truly terrifying.

What's a blog?
A blog is a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking news outlet. A collection of links. Your own private thoughts. Memos to the world.
Your blog is whatever you want it to be. There are millions of them, in all shapes and sizes, and there are no real rules.
In simple terms, a blog is a web site, where you write stuff on an ongoing basis. New stuff shows up at the top, so your visitors can read what's new. Then they comment on it or link to it or email you. Or not.
Since Blogger was launched in 1999, blogs have reshaped the web, impacted politics, shaken up journalism, and enabled millions of people to have a voice and connect with others.\
And we're pretty sure the whole deal is just getting started.
A blog gives you your own voice on the web. It's a place to collect and share things that you find interesting-whether it's your political commentary, a personal diary, or links to web sites you want to remember.
Many people use a blog just to organize their own thoughts, while others command influential worldwide audiences of thousands. Professional and amateur journalists use blogs to publish breaking news, while personal journalers reveal inner thoughts.
Whatever you have to say, Bloggers can help you say it.
Although not a must, most good quality blogs are interactive, allowing visitors to leave comments and even message each other via widgets on the blogs and it is this interactivity that distinguishes them from other statistic websites. In that sense, blogging can be seen as a form of social networking. Indeed, bloggers do not only produce content to post on their blogs but also build social relations with their readers and other bloggers.
